Okay.
I'm late.
I mean it's almost 10am here!
Well, better late than never, right?
Here's my contribution to the giveaway day! I'm having two - you know, just for fun.
The first is Handmade Accessories.
AND you have a choice!
I have been making wallets - or trying to. I had found a great tutorial for a wallet and I made myself one, but when I went to go make another, the page was gone! So I have been trying to make a few using my own as a template. Sounds easy, eh?
Well, um, it's not going so smooth as I would have hoped.
Here though, is the best one yet!
Zip pocket with a pocket behind, 6 card slots (though they could easily hold 2 cards each), and a pocket on the bottom to hold receipts or what have you.
Functional. Pretty. And one of a kind.
Or if you are so inclined, you could pick the art folder I made. It'll hold pencil crayons, wax crayons and paper. It closes with an elastic and button.
I hate having to do all kinds of things just to get an entry, so I'm gonna keep this simple. Just a comment. One simple comment and you're in!
And because I like having a prompt, how about a question to answer.
Where do you buy most of your fabric? What is your favourite shop?
Just let me know in your comment which you'd like to win, the wallet or the folder.
Howdy. Your wallets are adorable!
ReplyDeleteI actually end up buying most of my fabric at Joann's. Sad I know, but I like to touch it before I buy it.
Thanks for the fun giveaway! Happy Blogging!
Love the art set! I buy most of my fabric from Hancock fabrics because its local. For my designer fabrics, I usually get them on sale at fabric.com or in FQ or half yard packs on etsy.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite place to get fabric is the salvage store. Seriously! They just got a boatload of Jay McCarroll's woodland wonderland in. $4.50 a yard! I don't mind waiting a couple years. there's more fabric in the world than I can use.
ReplyDeleteFor kids clothing fabric, though, I love Chez Ami. They sell fabric as well as clothes, and it is really nice quality.
OOh the wallet is perfect! Great details! Thanks for hosting.
ReplyDeleteThe art folder would be so great for my little ones! Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeletescarletteandcinnamon(at)gmail(dot)com
what a fun art set!
ReplyDeleteI'm in such need of a new wallet! msagala 1 at gmail dot com
ReplyDeleteMost of my fabric came from my grandmother's stash when we cleaned out her house, or is repurposed from the three tubs of clothes my dad got rid of when he lost over 100 lbs. Anything else is usually bought online since it not easy to shop in a fabric store with a 2 year old!
ReplyDeletemindfulhome at gmail dot com
These are so fun! I would like to have the wallet.
ReplyDeleteMost of my fabric comes from Hobby Lobby or Hancock Fabrics. Thanks for the giveaway! robyn(dot)geddes(at)gmail(dot)com
ReplyDeleteI love the wallet; the fabric is beautiful! I actually buy a lot of my fabric from thrift stores!! It's a fantastic place to get fabric for cheap cheap! And since I don't mind not having the latest designer fabric, I'm fine with that! I'll tell you what my least favorite fabric store is - Fabricland (in Canada). They're sooo expensive and the staff is pretty much useless. There's a store in Calgary called Traditional Pastimes that has great fabric and super helpful staff.
ReplyDeleteI like buying fabric online- Hawthorne Threads and Fat Quarter Shop are two of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! fabric.com is my main addiction...I mean...fabric supplier. I live an hour away from any store to buy it, so online is awesome!
ReplyDeleteI love the wallet, I think. I also use Canton Village and Hawthorne Fabrics for my fabric needs - they're fun and have good sales!
ReplyDeletemichaelacking (at) gmail (d0t) com
I *heart* the art folder, and my teenager the artist will love it even more!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win such fun goodies! I especially love the art folder.
ReplyDeleteI like to hunt around for fabric sales and tend to buy from whichever shop is offering the best deal at the time! There is a website called True Up (http://www.trueup.net/) that posts sales alerts on a weekly basis. I have found them to be very useful!
I buy a lot of things on different forum's BSOT. I do like Mill's End (which is the fabric mill's outlet) to bulk up on things !
ReplyDeleteANd I think I'd like the folder !
I love the wallet, it's very cute and practical! I've been needing a new one recently.
ReplyDeleteThanks for doing the giveaway! :D
dramallama56(at)hotmail(dot)com
Oooh, I think I'd like the folder - planning on taking up sketching in 2012, although I've said that for the past few years!
ReplyDeleteAnd i'm a rummage saler - mostly recycled fabrics.....and rpesents from my sister who has excellent taste!
I love the wallet. There is a tutorial for something similar at sewingmamas.com I have a HUGE stash of fabric that I purchased while my husband was stationed in South Korea.

ReplyDeletetarynoakley(at)gmail(dot)com
Oh tough choice here but since I need a new one I will say I would love to win the wallet. I think you did a great job of it. Are you going to make a tute of your own for us? Thanks for the chance to win. I mostly shop on line as I work nights and sleep days and not to many fabric shops are open all night on my days off (LOL) just the ones on line. I really like the Intrepid Thread on esty, and Hawthorn Threads, Sky Reeves, oh there are just so many good shops on line I could go on and on.
ReplyDeleteThere is a quilting shop about an hour from here. But I may have to buy some stuff online soon. There are so many to choose from!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Hi, both are lovely but I would choose the art folder. I don't sew, I prefer to crochet or knit, so I don't have a fabric shop to recommend you, and I live in Portugal :)
ReplyDeleteSimple Comment!! Actually I like the little wallet you made, creative you, using your own template!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great giveaway!

ReplyDeleteMy birthday is Saturday, and this would be a great birthday present!
ReplyDeleteI buy most of my fabric from Hancocks. That is where my Mom went. That is where I go, and the ladies there know me.
We don't have many shops locally so I mostly buy online or at shows!
ReplyDeleteI love the wallet! I usually go to a local Hancock Fabric for all my fabric supplies, but I recently found a brick and morter store nearby that carries all designer fabrics - it's called Jackman Fabrics and I am so excited!!!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win the wallet. I purchase fabric from all sorts of places -- Dressew in Vancouver, Fabricland, and quilt shops here and there!

ReplyDeleteI hate paying for shipping so I buy the majority of my fabric at Joanns, with coupons. I have bought from fabric.com as well and have been very happy with them
ReplyDeleteLove the art folder and the wallet. The art folder would be good for my toddler. And the wallet is just plain cute and could find a good home in my purse.
ReplyDeleteI play with paper (making cards and occasionally scrapbooking), so don't purchase fabric. I love Michaels for my supplies though- especially if I have the 40% off coupon!
That folder is fantastic!!
ReplyDeleteI buy most of my fabric at Fabric Depot in Portland. It's a huge store, but not a chain. I buy little bits of fabric at our local quilt shop, but for a large shopping spree, i go to Portland, where there is a huge selection.
Online, I've been really happy with Pink Chalk Fabric.
I buy locally in my city centre mainly.
ReplyDeleteI love the art folder.

I would love the writing paper folder - yes I'm old fashioned and write letters.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance!
Oooh that's a very nice wallet. I buy most of my fabric at JoAnn's... for specialty stuff there's High Fashion Fabrics in town, or a LQS called Sunflower Quilts for quilting fabric, but JoAnn's is convenient... dangandblast@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteThanks! I have such a huge stash that I have been limiting myself to buying vintage fabric only from thrift stores, flea markets, etc.!
ReplyDeleteAnd I would prefer the wallet!
erikaahaj at verizon.net

ReplyDeleteMy local thrift store occasionally has nice fabric, of course there is always Joanns and I've been dying to try my local fabric shop.

ReplyDeletechibidani at gmail dot com
I usually buy my stuff at my favorite store: Hobby Lobby (I like to actually see the fabrics), but I've lately become smitten with "designer" stuff and I really like (and trust) Julie's judgement over at The Intrepid Thread (that's an etsy shop)

ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite places to buy fabric is Hawthorne Threads. They have loads of designer fabrics, some things you can't find hardly anywhere else and their prices seem to be a bit better. They've also got excellent customer service. And that walled is so lovely, I'd love to have it.
ReplyDeleteI need a new wallet!
ReplyDeleteI buy most of my fabric at a local shop which is, sadly, closing soon. :(
I have so much fabric already, I have no business buying more! Plus, I do a lot of charity quilting with donated fabric. Other than that, I like foraging in thrift shops a lot. Merry Christmas!
